A while back, I planned a weekend getaway to Mumbai and by Mumbai, the only place I meant was SOBO. An area so wide which covers all the things that a person looks for while traveling.
Food, shopping, history, sea, beaches all these thrills could be experienced in this part of Mumbai.
So, not only I heard “Mumbai is the city that never sleeps” I felt this myself while roaming on the streets of Colaba on Saturday night.
On the weekends you can have the time of your life with live music running 24*7 in the cafes and the sounds of the vendors on the streets who convince you the most to buy the things which starts with the minimum range of Rs.200.
There are so many places you can visit in South Mumbai. Ideally, people who stay out of Mumbai plans to reach on Saturday morning and return to their place by Sunday evening.
This is how even I planned. The schedule was pretty easy-peasy and didn’t exhaust me.
However, the air of Mumbai can never exhaust you.
The places you can visit in SOBO are Gateway of India, Colaba street for Shopping, Pizza by the bay for scrummy food, Marine Drive to chill with the beer in hand, and of course the huge library.
So, let’s explore the places one by one in detail. I hope with the blog you can imagine what I experienced.
Gateway of India
A harbor to many ships and home to numerous birds. What could be better than taking a morning walk on the pedestal paths of Gateway of India. So when visiting south Mumbai doesn’t forget to behold the beauty of this historical place.
After visiting Gateway of India you can head to Colaba street, a never-ending path of shopping for shopaholics. Take a budget challenge and pick as many things as possible at the cheapest prices.
Jewelry, jackets, watches, shoes, bags, and clothes the lane has got everything at one spot.
of course, how can one miss on Chowpatty beach when traveling to Mumbai. Visit the beach any time of the day you’ll be mesmerized by the view always. Flirting with the waves in the middle of the day isn’t a bad idea at all.
Devour the Chowpatty famous bhel, Kulfi and lot many food varieties.
Bandra- Worli Sea Link
If you’re staying up all night in SOBO, then taking a night view of the sea link is a must thing to do.
Take a drive, pass through the sea link and enjoy the wonders created by Mumbaikar Marvels.
Naturally formed Necklace with the city lights surrounded by the bay is what Marine Drive famous for.
Wherever you go, Mumbai food will follow you, sit at the fence of Marine Drive, find your calm in the chaos of the ever roaring waves and enjoy a softy with your loved ones.
